Lucy Kellaway is a regular Financial Times columnist, writing mostly about the stupidity of modern office work. In her 17 November column, Kellaway announces that she is leaving the FT in July to become a regular classroom trigonometry teacher in her native United Kingdom. Further, she is starting a web site, NowTeach, with Katie Waldegrave to recruit second or third career people into teaching. While I am a regular Kellaway reader, but not a fan because I disagree with many of her cynical views on the world of work, I applaud her launching a new career. The one certain thing is that teaching high school trig will be far more difficult than her work at the FT. Kudos to Lucy and best wishes for a great next chapter.
