The End Is Near

This item in GlobeNewswire about a marketing agency "hiring" a pair of AI-created interns is either a great step forward or a harbinger of the apocalypse. Maybe both. While AI has tremendous promise, it has the disruptive potential to displace many humans who do creative work today.

One of the leads at the Codeword agency is quoted as saying, "“It’s an opportunity to streamline internal processes by eliminating necessary but mind-numbing and time-consuming tasks — or at least to pass them off onto emotionless interns who can’t get bored." This sounds good, except that a lot of people depend on "mind-numbing and time-consuming tasks" to meet their mortgage payments.
