Transparency Marches On: Glassdoor.com
Still think that your organization's carefully cultivated and (probably) expensively maintained public image is bullet-proof? That the marketing department or your advertising budget can override the word on the street? More evidence that it is increasingly difficult to hide the truth comes from glassdoor.com, a web site launched this year by some former expedia.com execs.
Glassdoor.com lets users rate their CEO's--sort of like a constantly updating approval poll of the sort that we have become accustomed to in the political sphere. Want to see whether the CEO's you admire or loath are on the list? Check it out, but remember that it is only a matter of time before something similar exists in every niche, even schools and colleges.
