Spring Begins!

After a grueling winter in eastern North America, today brought a sure sign that spring is here: my iPhone vibrated mid-afternoon to alert me that the Yankees were leading in an early pre-season baseball game against a college team. I follow the NY Yankees because of growing up hearing my father's stories of his own growing up a few blocks from the Stadium (there of course only being one). In due course this week scores of my own team, the Cardinals, will begin appearing on my screen. Baseball is back! It may snow later this week in the Midwestern U.S. where I live, but spring moves northward about 100 miles each week and baseball beginning pre-season play is absolute proof that seasonal change finally lies ahead.
