Much agita in the United States (and elsewhere) about what the new Trump Administration means on various levels. The anomalies are just too many, from Trump himself to the composition of his cabinet, for there to be much of which one can be certain. Regardless of what emerges in the way of policy, it is important to remember that some dies are already cast, as this story from The Oklahoman in Oklahoma City illustrates. Even in an interior, fairly conservative state, public school enrollment is for the first time majority non-White.This sort of steady demographic change is afoot all over the U.S., faster on the coasts than in the middle. Policy from the new administration may affect the speed of change, but it likely won't reverse the trend. That train long ago left the station.
