One More Thing
In our previous post, we listed 3 things that are not changing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each item is something that, early on in 2020, many of us assumed might change forever. Now, as America continues to put aside masks, hop onto airplanes, and mingle in and out of doors, we see one more to add to the list: handshakes.Back in April 2020, authorities such as Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that handshaking should be a thing of the past. New rituals such as elbow bumps emerged to replace the almost universal hand-to-hand greeting. We learned to nod politely and keep our hands to ourselves. However, our admittedly anecdotal sample of recent meetings suggests that the handshake is back, stronger and more frequent than ever. Yet another thing that will not be much different.
