Must It Always Be So?

Following-up on our previous post

Many thanks to our colleague in Triangle Associates, Steve Graham, for pointing out that Patrick Terenzini and Ernest Pascarella make essentially the same points as Brian Rosenberg in their 1994 paper in Change Magazine, “Living with myths: Undergraduate education in America.” Former head of school Josie Holford points to this piece by Alden Blodget on why change initiatives inevitably seem to die in education. All of this leads us to ask whether our field must forever pretend it is immune from external forces that would otherwise foment change?
