Images from Japan

Much will be written and said in the months and years ahead about what is unfolding now in Japan in the aftermath of last week's earthquake a subsequent tsunami.  The pictures, video and still, drive home the point that technological prowess and sophisticated infrastructure are no match for energy of the magnitude that a 8.9 or 9.0 earthquake releases.  It's a sobering lesson in the limits we all still live within, yet delude ourselves into thinking won't apply to us when the time comes.  It can, no matter where we are on the planet.
