Carmageddon: The Newest Production from West L.A.

With the news that Carmageddon is coming to West Los Angeles June 16-17 with the planned shutdown of the infamous I-405 Freeway for 53 hours, one wonders whether this will be the epic mess some expect or the nonevent that the year-long shutdown of Highway 40 turned into in St. Louis a couple of years ago.  As a fond and frequent Westside visitor I can only imagine what Lincoln, Sawtelle and Sepulveda will be like next weekend, regardless of whether or not the event lives up to advance billing.

Sounds like a good excuse to spend the weekend at the beach, in case one needs such an excuse.  At least that's my advice to my son who is working in Santa Monica this summer.
